Report on the resolution of the incident involving the gas eruption at Shin-Etsu’s Naoetsu Plant

Regarding the spurting out of nature-derived gas that occurred at Shin-Etsu Chemical’s Naoetsu Plant on February 23, 2018, we have finished carrying out the work of closing the hole where it occurred.
Upon confirming that there was no longer any gas leaking out on March 26, we have reported the resolution of the situation to the local Fire Department and Police Department.
There were no injuries to any persons nor was there any damage to the manufacturing facilities as a result of this incident.
We would like once again to deeply apologize to all the nearby local residents and other concerned persons for causing them any anxieties and inconveniences for an extended period of time.
